Rare Earth explores the material basis of our most technologically developed tools and weapons – a class of 17 rare earth elements from the periodic table found in everything from mobile phones to computer hard drives. Bringing together myth, science, and politics, the exhibition features 17 international artistic positions.

Nach der Steinzeit, der Bronzezeit und der Eisenzeit - jetzt, die Zeit der Seltenen Erden.
RARE EARTH geht den begehrten Rohstoffen auf den Grund, die für die Erzeugung unserer hoch entwickelten technischen Gerätschaften und Waffen benötigt werden. 17 Elemente der seltenen Erden, die sogenannten 'Rare Earth Elements' sind überall zu finde: in Mobiltelefonen genauso wie in Computer-Festplatten. In der Ausstellung befassen sich 17 internationale künstlerische Positionen mit Fragen von Mythos, Wissenschaft und Politik.
