Best bathhouse restaurant in the world?
Make no mistake, the kitchen at Kaiserbrundl serves the most amazing food. Pop in before or after enjoying the baths and treat yourself. You've certainly worked up an appetite!

This place is HUGE! Lots of nice pictures everywhere. You will get lost because there are so many doors that open up. The pool that you see in their pics is not worth touching. Cold. Green. But the saunas here are very nice to relax. But what I love about this bathhouse is how confident men are to do what you need to do in a bathhouse. Yes, there are a few divas who think they are God's gift to mankind. But compared to all the bathhouses I've been to (and I've been to at least 25 all over the world), the men of Vienna are pretty straightforward to realizing what the function of a bathhouse is. Finally, unlike North America, bathhouses in Europe, during the week, is about going afterwork. leave that late night stuff for the weekend.

When bad service starts at the door
The receptionist seemed surprised to have clients coming in, we had to ask if it was open. He abruptly mentioned that it wasn't the busiest of the days, however he should be working anyway. We decided not to try it and left immediately after. Never more.

      Absolutely terrible
I've travelled Europe for 2 years and visited many gay Saunas and spas. Sometimes negative reviews occur because the reviewer didn't get sex, or felt like they were 'not in the right place' and feeling rejected, subsequently dislike a venue. Let me be clear. I was certainly not rejected at this venue. I was possibly the youngest (I'm 30), and slimmest person in the entire place. I was constantly followed around by people and in one instance had to tell a man to stop trying to touch me (Nein Danke didn't seem to work). Even so, older patrons do not necessarily cause a venue to be rated badly. The bathhouses in budapest are filled with dirty old men, but they are beautiful and clean and worth the money. Kaiserbrundl was dark, miserable, and actually dirty. There was dirt and grime and mould on the walls and steps and floor. The pool was much smaller than it appears in the photos and the water was brown/green and cold. The showers were terrible (run for 4 seconds and then require you to push the button again and again and again) and the steamrooms were mouldy and gross. The bar was filled with cigarette smoke. The saddest part about all of this is that the sauna has such potential if it were taken care of and cleaned. It could be beautiful (like I imagine it once was). This sad depreciation of beauty (a longing of what once was and no longer can be) sadly parallels the clients that visit the venue. If it only cost me 5 euros, I'd still be disappointed. But it cost 20 euros and was abysmal. To be clear, you will leave this place feeling dirty and unfortunate and wishing you'd spent however long you were inside, outside.

      Asked for my way twice
I've been here two consecutive days... First day the crowd was fair, pretty old, second day was a thursday and was full of hot young guys! The place is nice and i love the deco and the waiters are hot, but it becomes a little bit harassing after a while! Overall experience is nice! Will come back during my next visit...

      Amazing Space
My partner & I were in Vienna for a couple of days at the beginning of the week. I had wanted to check out Kaiserbrundl for years, and this was our big opportunity. We arrived at 9pm on Monday night, and the place closes at 11:30. The guy at the front desk let us know that we only had a few hours, and we said "OK." The space is huge. The changing room is upstairs and some good-looking guys were putting on their clothes while we got there. We walked down to the basement level where all the cruising areas were, and quickly realized how easy it is to get lost in this place. There is a steam room, several dark maze/glory hole areas, 2 saunas, and a cold pool. There are erotic murals all over the place which I was pleased to be able to admire in person finally. It was late on a Monday night, so the crowd was kind of thin. There was not a huge amount of action, but the guys who were there were good looking. Would love to check out the scene if I'm ever in Vienna on a weekend evening.
